St Andrews Community Development Plan

Client: Yanchep Beach Joint Venture

St Andrews is an urban development in Perth's growing northern suburbs. When the area is fully developed it will be home to a community of around 17,000 people.

The developer, Yanchep Beach Joint Venture, engaged Capire to develop a Community Development Plan for the area. The plan details the services and infrastructure that will be required to maximise local social outcomes.

In developing the plan Capire was responsible for:

  • Demographic projections and analysis;
  • Analysis of potential social issues and opportunities in the local community;
  • Developing local community development objectives and principles;
  • Identifying physical community infrastructure needs; and
  • Identifying community services and partnerships that will help achieve positive outcomes for the local community.

As development begins in the coming years, the plan will be implemented in partnership with government and agencies.  The plan places a particular emphasis on activities to boost local educational attainment and develop identity and connections in the local community.
