Peninsula Link – Stakeholder Engagement and Communications

Client: Southern Way / Abigroup

Peninsula Link is a 27 kilometre road link being constructed in Melbourne's South-East.  When completed the new freeway will run between EastLink at Carrum Downs and the Mornington Peninsula Freeway at Mount Martha.

The $759 million project is part of the Victorian Government's $38 billion Victorian Transport Plan and the Southern Way consortium (comprising Abigroup and Conneg) is responsible for financing, designing and building the freeway.  Upon completion, Peninsula Link will also be maintained and operated by the consortium.

A key factor in the success of Southern Way being awarded this project was the submission of a comprehensive and innovative Stakeholder Engagement Plan, developed in partnership during the bid process by Abigroup and Capire Consulting Group.

As the constructors on the project, Abigroup are now working with stakeholders and local communities to ensure they have access to relevant and timely information during the construction program.  Capire Consulting Group continues to be closely involved in the project, providing expert assistant to the Peninsula Link Community Team around the development of communications materials and engagement activities.
