Mitchell 2020

Client: Mitchell Shire Council

Mitchell Shire Council embarked on a process to develop a broad strategic plan to guide planning and development in Mitchell Shire over the next decade. The strategic plan, Mitchell 2020 Plan, will reflect both Council and community aspirations and help Mitchell to become a stronger and more resilient community.

To assist in the development of the Mitchell 2020 Plan, Capire Consulting Group in partnership with 10 Consulting were appointed by Mitchell Shire Council.

Capire Consulting Group was involved in the development of the stakeholder and community consultation program to encourage community and stakeholders to have input into and ownership over the Mitchell 2020 Plan.

Capire and 10 Consulting worked closely with Council, the Mitchell community, key stakeholders and agencies to identify a 10 year vision and key challenges and opportunities for the Shire. The Mitchell 2020 Plan will assist Council and agencies to better understand current and future infrastructure capacity and demand for the 2020 vision period and beyond as well as likely settlement scenarios for each of the major settlement areas. The project also investigated potential land use planning across the municipality and key considerations for local services and facilities.
