The Coburg Initiative

Client: Equiset / Moreland City Council

The Coburg Initiative is about new jobs, housing, services and retail. It will lead to improvements to Coburg's public realm and will address safety and accessibility issues. It will celebrate and preserve the things that make today's Coburg great and focus on new connectivity between people and their places of work, culture, sport and leisure.

In early 2009, Capire Consulting Group was engaged to design and implement the Coburg Initiative Stakeholder Engagement Plan to underpin the development of the Central Coburg Master Plan. Capire's role has included he preparation of communication materials including newsletters and fact sheets; facilitation of events including community workshops, focus groups and a SpeakOut.

Capire is currently working with Moreland City Council on the consultation associated with the Place Framework Strategy.

Amy Hubbard

Amy Hubbard is a Director and co-founder of Capire Consulting Group. She has extensive experience in stakeholder engagement, social planning and community development. Amy has worked with public and private sector organisations in Australia and overseas enabling her to develop a versatile approach to specific project objectives.

Sally Abbott

Sally has worked for international organisations, Australian non-profits and has conducted community engagement in Mexico, Laos and Australia. With a particular focus on community development and planning, Sally's studies have both complemented and propelled her career path. She brings a broad range of skills to her current role as social research and stakeholder engagement consultant.

Steven Weir

Steven has specialist skills in communications, engagement, media and marketing in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and South East Asia. His experience spans corporate rebranding projects, the implementation of extensive internal communication initiatives, preparation and implementation of stakeholder engagement strategies, media planning and issues management.
